Mrs. Valentine Gitoho was inducted as the new Chair of the NEGST Governing Council, in a wonderful chapel ceremony on Friday 3 February 2006 at NEGST. She takes over from Mr. Sam Muumbi, who has retired as the Chair of the Council after serving for 2 terms, each 4 years. Also inducted was africa the Council's Vice Chairman, Mr. Harun Nyamboki. Other than Mr. Sam Muumbi, Pastor Oscar Muriu has also retired from the Council after serving 2 terms.
This ceremony also saw the introduction of three new Council members; Mrs. Rose Simani, Ms. Rachel Kitonyo and Dr. Joel Trudell.
The ceremony was presided over by NEGST's Chancellor, Dr. Tokunboh Adeyemo and was attended by Council members as well as students and faculty.
