NEGST Runner's Join Thousands in London's 10K Charity Run!
The British London 10K Run is gearing up to be an exciting event for hundreds of charities all over the world. It's the fifth such event. There will be thousands
of runners, with many charities being supported. It is also timed to coincide with celebrations of the end of the 2nd World War - 60 years ago.
The small team running under OCTeam auspices in support of NEGST comprises:
- Dr Geoff Stanley-Smith (in his 80s; walking 10K; Eve Wilmot's brother)
- Jenny Morris (escorting Geoff on the walk; Eve's Wilmot's niece)
- Dr Rob Morris (Jenny's husband; an experienced Marathon runner; a family doctor)
- Mike Wilmot (Tony & Eve Wilmot's grandson; a student at the University of Surrey)
- Gregory Schaad-Jackson (a trainee chef at the Savoy Hotel in London; a former pupil of mine at Harrow School)
- Tim Lawson-Cruttenden (a solicitor-advocate; also ex-Harrow; another experienced Marathon runner)
- Dr Tony Jefferis (consultant ear, nose & throat physician; Tony's two sons were at Harrow)
- Nick Connell (OCTeam Director, Fred Connell's son;)
- Rob Collins (Tony & Eve Wilmot's son-in-law; registrar at Harrow School).
On Sunday, 3rd July, we shall set off at 09.30 (British Summer Time) from Hyde Park Corner in London. We finish in Whitehall at the Cenotaph, by Downing Street. The route is via Piccadilly, through Trafalgar Square, to the Thames Embankment; along the Embankment towards Tower Bridge, through the City, back along the Embankment, crossing over Westminster Bridge and back (beside Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament), into Whitehall and down to the Cenotaph. All runners have to pledge to finish by 11.30!
If you would like to pledge to support one of our runners, whether you are in the UK, North America or Africa, please email PR@negst.edu and we will respond quickly with details on how to pledge.
Let's make this the first of many entries in this annual event.
