Philosophy of Teaching
I believe that teaching is not just about passing information to students or their learning of a subject essential as they are for broadening knowledge and deepening understanding. Besides passing on information, teaching is about inculcating proper attitude towards a subject and about facilitating skills relevant to a particular discipline. In other words, the product of teaching should be subject-matter learning, healthy attitudes towards the subject, and growth of skills relevant to the discipline of the subject matter. The long term effects of this are both transformative (changing a persons perspective and often attitudes) and practical (the acquisition of professional or occupational skills).

Research Interests
Broadly speaking, my research interests lie in the New Testament but more particularly in the area of contextual readings of the New Testament. Naturally (as my publications show) this has led to my research interests in biblical interpretations (with reference to Africa) on Christianity in Africa, and on African realities. I am currently doing research on the theological interpretations of the Gospels in Africa.
