The Christian Ministries Programme (CMP)

One of NEGST's distinctive is to provide for the spouses of married students opportunity for undergraduate studies. Married students are accepted with the understanding that both husband and wife are united in their commitment to the Lord as partners in His service. Husband and wife must share a united vision, to be realized in complementary ministry on biblical principles of marriage. However, the undergraduate studies are not limited to spouses of the post-graduate students. In an increasing number of cases both spouses qualify for and pursue studies at the post-graduate level.

Goals and objectives of the CMP

NEGST presently offers a two-year diploma course to all qualified student under the Christian Ministries Programme. NEGST is dedicated and committed to fulfilling the following goals in the lives of those enrolled in the programme.

To equip to serve in the area of ministry to which God has called alongside the spouse in the ministry in which they share a united vision
To assist in areas of personal development, Christian growth and family life
To provide basic training in skills that will prove practically beneficial in both church and para-church ministries
To provide an opportunity to study the Word of God formally and to apply its truth in one's daily life at home and outside the home
To prepare to minister in areas of teaching and counselling within the ministry to which the student is called.

Diploma in Christian Ministries

Purpose

The Diploma in Christian Ministries is a two-year programme that requires 80 credit hours of course work to complete. The broad objective of the Diploma in Christian Ministries Programme is to develop the spouses to serve alongside their mates in selected areas of Church ministries at a level higher than the Certificate programme.

Content of Programme

A total of 80 credit hours is required for the Diploma in Christian Ministries. There are 65 credit hours of core courses and 15 credit hours of electives. In additional, due to the diverse abilities of students who normally enrol in this programme, the programme offers 6 hours of optional courses, which a student can take in place of a regular elective or at his/her discretion. Optional courses are given in italics below:
